Functions as a liaison to Information Technologies from the engineering line of business
Develop business system requirements, implementations, and support
Defines user system requirements, provides user support, coordinates user acceptance testing of new tools and gathers user feedback
Performs feasibility analysis, develops project scope, and provides recommendations on alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization
Provide the engineering group with the data they need to make accurate and smart decisions when designing the electrical grid
Use common database and reporting tools to analyze data and present it to engineers and designers
Support senior engineering staff on key initiatives including analyzing equipment data, presenting data inside desktop applications, and developing SQL queries

Requirements

Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering at an accredited University
Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship
3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation
Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
Comfortable with SQL Syntax, “Select” statements, table joins, creating custom views
Knowledge about REST APIs, experience using Postman to test APIs
Bentley iTwin API experience
Comfortable using PowerShell
AutoCAD experience / lisp / visual basic / other AutoCAD plugin experience
Knowledge about Microsoft development tools - MS SQL Server, PowerShell, Visual Studio, IIS, Windows Task Scheduler
