About the role

  • Responsible for construction and improvement projects in the electric transmission system
  • Identifies contract worthy projects, consults on project feasibility and details, coordinates with construction crews
  • Oversees project inspectors, performs construction oversight based on project needs
  • Prepares job packages and construction estimates, conducts job walks, meets with bidders and governing agencies
  • Ensures projects are completed per company standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits and schedule
  • Compiles and interprets internal drawings and relevant data for RFP and contract processes
  • Consults and clarifies technical details for contractors during construction
  • Attends job scope walk downs, leads job scope discussions
  • Addresses all communication and project documentation with contractors, conducts meetings at job site
  • Monitors daily construction activities to meet safety, quality, cost and schedule goals
  • Acts as point of contact for construction contractors to ensure resources are adequate for delivery
  • Acts as Incident Commander and PG&E Representative in the field
  • Ensures contractors follow safety plans, project environmental/land permits and safety rules
  • Oversees the inspection of the construction work and coordinates the work of field inspectors
  • Works with Project Managers to establish planning/schedule dates for construction
  • Provides mentoring and training to Associate, Career and Senior level employees

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in the field of Industrial engineering or Construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in utility construction
  • 9 years working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction (Desired)
  • Working Knowledge Primavera P6, Unifier, Primavera Contracts Manager, Prolog or similar (Desired)
  • Advanced Knowledge of California and Federal regulatory requirements such as Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) (Desired)
  • Knowledge of the company’s emergency management processes (Desired)
  • Ability to lead trainings and coach less experienced employees (Desired)
  • Long term planning and scheduling skills (Desired)
