About the role
- The Early Career Engineering Program is designed to provide engineers with multiple job experiences within the first two years combined with structured engineering classroom training.
- Each engineer is assigned a discipline-specific job rotation that will include a rotational outage assignment in addition to a training rotation between 6-10 weeks.
- The rotations may be in Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, or specialty disciplines such as Reactor Engineering, Predictive Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, Component Engineering, In-Service Inspection, EFIN and License Renewal.
- The program is structured so the engineer works in a specific group for an Engineering Supervisor that assigns tasks that enable the engineer to perform work and obtain qualifications through performance.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have received or will be receiving a Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Nuclear, Material, or General Engineering only from May 2024 to June 2026 from an ABET accredited university.
- Former DCPP or PG&E Intern
- EIT or FE certification
- Coursework or experience with HVAC Systems, Fire Protection, Instrument & Controls, Power Generation, Mechatronics.
- 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA with classwork supporting power plant knowledge
- Engineering intern experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation
- Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction.
