About the role
- Responsible for construction and improvement projects in the gas transmission system
- Identify contract worthy projects, consult on project feasibility and site details
- Coordinate with construction crews and oversee project inspectors
- Prepare job packages and construction estimates
- Conduct job walks and meet with bidders, contractors, and governing agencies
- Ensure projects are completed per company standards and regulatory guidelines
- Lead job scope discussions and attend design reviews to provide constructability input
- Address communication and project documentation with contractors
- Monitor daily construction activities and ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are met
- Acts as Incident Commander and PG&E Representative in the field
- Oversee the inspection of construction work and coordinate field inspectors
- Work with Project Managers to establish planning/schedule dates for future construction
- Provide mentoring and training to Associate, Career and Senior level employees
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 7 years of experience in the field of Industrial engineering or Construction
- 9 years working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction.
- Knowledge of carbon steel piping materials, welding processes and standards used on Gas Transmission Construction.
- Working Knowledge Primavera P6, Unifier, Primavera Contracts Manager, Prolog or similar.
- Demonstrated abilities in Cost accounting / Inspection / Contract administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge in Gas Transmission Construction.
- Ability to perform cost and project scheduling.
- Gas Transmission material / construction / welding standards.
