About the role
- Accountable to establish and maintain processes for safe operation of batch house and furnaces
- Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to safety responsibilities
- Develop and implement procedures and systems to meet customer expectations
- Conduct process audits and determine maintenance needs on the batch and melting assets
- Partner with maintenance and operations teams to resolve equipment issues
- Educate, train, and coach employees on batch and melting processes
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing or technical environment
- Glass batch/melting experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Engineering or Science preferred
- Understands customer needs, environmental requirements, product specifications, and critical process characteristics
- Understands statistical concepts including data analysis, control charts, process capability and design of experiments
- Basic elements of producing fiberglass including raw materials and control systems
- Ability to communicate with and engage employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects at one time
- Ability to travel 5-10%
