Machine Learning Engineer

• Architect and build advanced ML models to map and predict vegetation and fuel conditions across diverse geographies.
• Design and maintain robust data and feature pipelines for large-scale geospatial and temporal data.
• Partner with wildfire science and product teams to define modeling objectives and evaluation metrics tied to real-world impact.
• Build reproducible experimentation frameworks and model evaluation workflows.
• Scale models from research to production with a focus on performance, reliability, and explainability.
• Lead the evolution of ML systems, tooling, and processes — ensuring that our wildfire fuelscape models remain state-of-the-art and maintainable.
• Collaborate with MLOps peers to streamline training, inference, and monitoring in production environments.

Staff Machine Learning Engineer – Wildfire

Security Engineer

• Maintain and improve Overstory’s compliance platform in its support of SOC 2, ISO27001 and other frameworks.
• Monitor and track vulnerabilities across infrastructure and applications, coordinating with and assisting engineering teams for timely remediation.
• Provide limited IT support for onboarding, offboarding, access management, and endpoint security.
• Conduct vendor security reviews to manage third-party risk.
• Support SOC 2 and ISO27001 audit compliance, including evidence gathering and control monitoring.
• Assist with customer security questionnaires and maintain a knowledge base of standard responses.

Accountant

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Oversee the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring timely closing of monthly and year-end financials.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely processing of Company financial obligations (accounts payable).
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany transactions, balance sheet, and income statement accounts.
• Support the proper recognition of revenue and alignment with contractual terms and accounting standards (ASC 606).
• Support external auditors during annual audit procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits.
• Identify areas for process improvements within accounting functions, and help implement scalable, automated solutions as the company grows.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide support for special projects such as system implementations, financial analysis, and technical research.

Senior Accountant

• Lead full hiring process across a variety of roles for engineering teams, including scoping, sourcing, scheduling, interviewing, and offer delivery
• Own the full-cycle recruitment process for engineering roles
• Partner closely with hiring managers to understand team needs and design effective hiring strategies
• Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines through creative sourcing and networking as well as application review
• Schedule and coordinate interviews to ensure a smooth and timely process
• Act as a culture ambassador, bringing in mission-aligned talent who reflect Overstory’s values
• Partner with the other Technical Recruiter to use data and feedback to optimize hiring practices and continuously improve results
• Adapt quickly and pitch in across the people team when needed in fast-paced startup environment
• Ensure a great candidate experience throughout the hiring process
