About the role
- Establish and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, and developer-friendly systems and infrastructure.
- Develop software and systems to enhance the overall developer experience.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify and implement solutions that improve product reliability, quality, and time-to-market.
- Collaborate closely with the Security team to ensure system security and adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
- Lead complex technical initiatives and drive organizational improvements across various teams.
- Provide mentorship to DevOps and Software Engineers through design reviews and technical guidance.
- Work with engineering leadership to establish technical direction and best practices for infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD.
- Uphold a high standard for the quality of system architecture and design, while maintaining simplicity.
- Be available for periodic "on-call" duties during non-working hours, as planned and required by the team.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering, demonstrating increasing scope and impact.
- Extensive experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including the architecture, deployment, and scaling of complex production systems.
- Proven experience with observability, automation, performance engineering in cloud environments, and Continuous Integration and Delivery.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized applications, and strong knowledge of GitOps tools such as ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments.
- Familiarity with Crossplane and Terraform for managing infrastructure abstractions.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go).
- Experience with API Gateway and/or Service Mesh, implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO) for secure access control, and familiarity with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for fine-grained access management.
