About the role
- Own the delivery and quality of all product engineering work, ensuring your team consistently ships features that improve workflows for psychiatrists and practice operations
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of senior+ product engineers (both in-office and remote) through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development
- Contribute code regularly (~30-40% time), participating in architecture decisions, code reviews, and unblocking complex technical challenges
- Partner with Product to drive sprint planning, estimation, and execution, translating roadmap into shipped features
- Be accountable for engineering velocity, quality metrics, and system reliability—balancing technical debt with feature delivery
- Establish and maintain engineering processes that enable the team to move quickly without sacrificing quality
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering management
- Proven track record of managing engineering teams in small startup environments
- Experience building 0-1 products from concept to launch with minimal resources and maximum impact
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to contribute meaningfully to our Node / TypeScript codebase
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive in fast-paced startup environments
- Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate (relocation assistance may be provided)
- Authorized to work in the United States (Osmind does not sponsor immigration visas at the moment)
