About the role

  • Investigate and analyze professional liability claim files involving licensees of the OACIQ.
  • Assess liability, damages and reserves.
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of files, liaising with lawyers, experts and insured parties.
  • Draft contestations related to files filed with the Small Claims Division of the Court of Quebec.
  • Participate in alternative dispute resolution processes, when required.
  • Respond to information requests from insureds and consumers.
  • Take part in risk prevention activities, such as conferences and the drafting of bulletins.
  • Participate in activities and projects related to the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Support the increasing volume of low-value claims received by FARCIQ, including responsibilities related to the accelerated processing of these files.
  • Perform any other related tasks necessary for the proper functioning of FARCIQ.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law, be a lawyer or notary registered on the Order’s roll, or hold a valid Certificate of Expert in Commercial Insurance Claims issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong written and spoken French and English skills.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in insurance (expertise in civil or professional liability is an asset).
