About the role
- Support the entire application lifecycle from conception to operation.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend web applications, including writing clean, reusable code, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Own backend architecture decisions, taking into account existing systems, product goals, scalability, performance, and technical sustainability.
- Coordinate and align interfaces between frontend, backend, and business-critical ERP systems.
- Work closely with frontend developers and the Frontend Solution Architect to integrate UI components, services, and functional requirements.
- Mediate, facilitate, and resolve functional and technical issues between frontend and backend teams.
- Advance and modernize the existing system using modern technologies.
- Provide hands-on support in architecture and decision-making, and document architectural decisions and technical concepts.
- Regularly align with internal stakeholders and monitor and evaluate new technologies.
Requirements
- Degree in IT (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Web Development), vocational training as an IT specialist, or equivalent qualification.
- Senior-level experience in software development, preferably with architectural responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of Java / Kotlin / Spring Boot.
- Experience with databases, especially relational systems (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL).
- Understanding of frontend topics and interfaces (e.g., JavaScript / TypeScript is a plus).
- Ability to communicate, facilitate, and collaboratively solve complex technical issues.
- Self-motivated with a genuine interest in actively shaping the product, architecture, and collaboration.
- Business-fluent German and good English skills (team language is partly English).
