About the role
- Guide the installation, testing, and maintenance of protection and control systems
- Perform startup and commissioning of new T&D equipment
- Troubleshoot and correct P&C systems
- Investigate electric system events and protection operations
- Document and review compliance requirements
- Provide onsite engineering support and direct operating and construction personnel
- Design control scheme logic and create protective relaying schematic diagrams
- Conduct scheduled inspection and functional tests of protective relays
Requirements
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or BS Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology
- A minimum of seven (7) years of total relevant experience with (5) years Substation Field Engineering Experience
- Experience with critical decision-making skills without supervisory intervention
- Ability to read and interpret electric schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including: 3-phase circuit theory, energy systems, electronics theory and equipment troubleshooting concepts
- Knowledge of protective relaying principles and testing concepts
- Ability to operate complex electrical test and measurement equipment and accurately interpret results
- Working knowledge of safety policies/procedures, material/supply systems, and electric/material standards
