About the role

  • Supports the close process as needed to ensure timeline is met.
  • Duties may include but are not limited to, Depreciation and amortization entries.
  • Miscellaneous accruals.
  • Interest in calculation and entries.
  • Bi-monthly labor, benefit and payroll postings.
  • Monthly bank, debt, balance sheet, revenue, and other account reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Accounts Receivable processing.
  • Sets up and modifies projects and employees in the accounting system based on contract documentation and information provided by the Project Finance Manager.
  • Recording and reconciling project team managed billings in the accounting system, reconciling, and resolving variances under the leadership of the Project Finance Manager.
  • Attending to AR related queries.
  • Support of annual financial audits, diligence, and other financial evidence collection requests.
  • Maintains accessible and audit ready documentation for responsible areas.
  • Gathers, reviews, submissions, and can explain documentation to external auditors.
  • Maintains strong familiarity with Orbis Policies and procedures.
  • Backup for critical functions assigned to others on Accounting Team.
  • Contributes to other Special Finance/Accounting initiatives as time permits.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in accounting/finance, at least 3 years in government contracting
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite
  • 2+ years of recent experience using Costpoint/Deltek
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • Pays strict attention to detail
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
