About the role

  • Deliver upkeep of the team’s backlog
  • Collaborate with the team's testing effort
  • Lead on the implementation of user stories
  • Embrace mobbing, pairing, and pair programming
  • Work with clients and key stakeholders to deliver improved ways of working
  • Contribute to Opencast’s communities of practice and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Deliver GDS-standard digital services and support agile transformation
  • Ensure work complies with Opencast and customer policies, standards and procedures
  • Split time across HQ, hub locations, client sites and home; travel as required

Requirements

  • UK Security Clearance (existing SC clearance or eligibility) is a requirement
  • Familiarity with the Government Digital Service (GDS) toolkit is essential
  • Expertise in Java and/or Scala preferred
  • Experience with Kotlin, Ruby, Springboot, Python is also valuable
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Programming
  • In depth knowledge of concepts and uses of testing
  • Experience with agile methodology, extreme programming practices, TDD, pair programming and mobbing
  • Consultancy experience working with clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to follow quality, environmental, and information security policies and procedures
  • Comfortable with new technology and ongoing learning
  • Work inside IR35 (contracting)
