About the role

  • Ensure that inbound and outbound commissions, payroll, invoices, and payables are recorded accurately and processed in a timely manner.
  • Review and reconcile bank/credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Record ad-hoc, recurring, and closing transactions each calendar month. Provide a first level review of accuracy and completeness of financial records. Maintain supporting documentation for key transactions as necessary for financial audit and any management review.
  • Monitor and track expenses, process invoices, and ensure timely payment of bills while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Support month-end closing processes with the CFO and other internal/external accounting staff.
  • Support the financial analysis and budgeting processes, assist in the tracking of actual to budget performance and assist in identifying and explaining variances.
  • Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Assist with system upgrades and implementations as needed.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and ensure smooth financial operations. Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reports as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online (QBO), online payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
