About the role

Lead the development and operation of OpenAI’s Continuous Delivery platform
Drive evolution of the Delivery Platform to support faster iteration cycles, improved reliability, and reduced deployment friction
Enable engineering teams to ship features frequently with confidence, backed by robust testing, monitoring, and rollback capabilities
Partner closely with Product, Infrastructure, Observability, and Reliability teams to ensure changes reach production quickly and safely
Scale the delivery ecosystem to meet demands of a growing global user base and expanding codebase
Lead, grow, and inspire a team of engineers; set direction and foster a culture of operational excellence
Shape critical technical capabilities that unlock speed and reliability for research and product teams

5+ years of experience managing teams in fast-paced, high-performance environments
5+ years of experience working with distributed systems at scale
Strong track record of leading and delivering complex, cross-functional projects
Experience building and scaling world-class engineering teams
Excel at coaching and developing engineers to achieve peak potential
Thrive in ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions
Care deeply about reliability, safety, and developer experience and translate these values into technical strategy
Ability to work in-person at OpenAI's San Francisco office three days per week (hybrid)
