About the role
- Responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Channel team in leveraging the performance of the Opella portfolio in National Account groups
- Position Opella as the category champion within your account portfolio
- Drive category growth, providing category leadership, and delivering above category average returns for our brands
- Achieve a net sales budget within these accounts
- Grow Gross Sales with execution of agreed account standards whilst maintaining tight control of Trade Promotional Expenditure and operational expenses
- Management of compliance and Trade Spend aligned to Trading Terms (including case deal claims)
- Understands the impact of Trading Terms and Promotional discounts on profitability
- Ensure promotional program is aligned to meet strategic objectives
- Understands available promotional tools and how each could be adapted successfully to different channels and customers
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, including all key stakeholders in the customer business
- Actively encourage cross functional relationships to exist with relevant departments within Opella ie. Marketing, Category Strategy, RGM, Supply Chain etc.
- Provide clear direction to the 3rd party national merchandising team as required
- Supports account manager with core range updates, NPD new line forms, conferences, banner audits, submission forms, CAPS, hector questions, activation briefs, artwork
- Works closely with trade marketing and consumer marketing to ensure promotions meet strategic objectives
- Regular meetings with key stakeholders
- Seek regular feedback from peers, field, retailer and accounts for proactive development
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a Field Sales/ Account Manager role within FMCG industry
- Ability to demonstrate a strong analytical competency
- Understanding of key account processes and industry key decision makers ie: catalogues, planograms, promotional planning, range reviews etc.
- High level communication- written and verbal, and working with all levels of stakeholders
- Competent computer skills, including accessing and presenting relevant trade data
- Strong negotiating skills with a focus on brand building within categories
- Ability to effectively facilitate communication cross-functionally
- Be extremely organised, able to plan ahead, reliable and diligent in all areas of work
