About the role
- Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks
- Lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and strategies to ensure the organization’s data is accurate, secure, and compliant
- Establish and maintain data quality standards and best practices to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness across the organization
- Collaborate with legal, IT, and compliance teams to ensure data governance initiatives align with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA
- Oversee data stewardship activities and work with data owners to ensure that data is managed appropriately throughout its lifecycle
- Lead the integration of data governance practices into data systems and platforms, ensuring proper metadata management and data lineage tracking
- Develop reports and dashboards to monitor data governance performance and provide documentation and training materials for stakeholders
- Work closely with IT, business, and data teams to implement technical solutions that improve data governance practices and enhance the usability of data assets
- Oversee the selection and implementation of data governance tools, technologies, and systems that support the organization’s data strategy and governance objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field
- 7 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, metadata management, and compliance frameworks
- Experience with Data Modeling and data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Erwin, Collibra, Alation, Informatica etc..)
- Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.)
- Strong technical skills in data integration, data architecture, and data security
- Must have at least a Public Trust Clearance
- Proficient in English spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
