About the role
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, AR, AP, and account reconciliations.
- Apply knowledge of healthcare accounting principles and standards, including revenue recognition, to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare-specific financial regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid billing, and other relevant guidelines.
- Utilize technical expertise to support the implementation, integration, and optimization of financial systems, with a focus on Sage and NetSuite.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on financial performance, trends, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial reports and documentation.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or additional coursework in healthcare finance is a plus.
- CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting credential required.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of healthcare accounting principles, revenue recognition, and financial regulations specific to the healthcare industry.
- Experience with financial systems implementation and integration, particularly Sage and NetSuite; proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
