About the role
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand GAAP and US GAAP in financial reporting.
- Provide variance analysis and explanations for budget vs. actual results.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and reports for senior management.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads.
- Prepare rolling forecasts to provide updated financial outlooks.

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including New Zealand GAAP and US GAAP.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.
- Support external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Act as a financial advisor to business units, providing insights and support for decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance improvements.
- Present financial information to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the finance function.
- Lead or participate in the implementation of new financial systems and tools.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or related roles.
- Expertise in New Zealand GAAP and US GAAP is essential.
- Experience in tax compliance and filing tax returns in New Zealand.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
