About the role

  • Accountable for identification of target opportunities and companies via a process by which detailed screening in areas of interest is performed such that no opportunities are missed
  • Building strategic and scientific relationships with representatives of target companies and with KOLs
  • Lead the scientific evaluation of opportunities (including the coordination and management of the formal due diligence process) across R&D
  • Collaborating with commercial assessment team to provide scientific input to commercial assessment and ensure scientific evaluation addresses key value drivers
  • Collaborating with the TA department heads and the VP BD/Sr. Director Licensing for Neuroscience, responsible for ensuring that R+D resources are engaged in an orderly, efficient, timely and cost-effective manner in the evaluation of licensing opportunities for the TA
  • Ensuring all business development opportunities progressing to contracting and beyond meet the internal portfolio standards of scientific excellence, that development risks are identified, adequately communicated, and debated with R&D leadership and that mitigation strategies are captured and accounted for in the development plans and costs
  • In collaboration with other IMBD colleagues, contribute to the development and improvement of processes, templates and data capture systems to be applied by the BD group to attain the highest professional standards in the execution of duties.
  • The candidate will work closely with all colleagues of the External Innovation teams to ensure seamless Neuroscience execution

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master's degree is required
  • Drug Discovery or Drug Development (7 years minimum) with a large portion of that experience being gained in an industry setting
  • Expertise within Neuroscience therapy area
  • Experience fostering relationships with KOLs and external partners
  • Leadership skills as well as strong interpersonal communication
  • This role requires up to 30% domestic and international travel
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making capabilities, with demonstrated resilience and learning agility
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work seamlessly within cross-functional teams.
