About the role
- Installs, services, and repairs medical device equipment in external facilities to support sales team and customers
- Functions as a primary resource for stakeholders
- Provides frequent status updates and documented service reports to stakeholders
- Operate efficiently to conclude all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test activities to factory specifications and perform other additional duties or projects as assigned
- Ensures that installation, maintenance, and other necessary work is completed on time
- Identifies problems and recommends resolutions on existing products and procedures
- Analyze service data, to schedule proactive and reactive service
- Work closely with colleagues for knowledge and skills transfer
- Ability to operate and maintain a corporate vehicle
- Maintain trunk inventory, manage, and preserve calibrated test equipment and other electronic devices
- Able to lift or move 50lbs, stand, squat, kneel, reach for extended periods of time, utilize hand tools, electronic test equipment to repair medical lasers and other medical devices
- Ability to acclimate to modified schedules
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or Technical Certification is required (Electronics, Bio-Medical, Optical, Mechanical)
- A minimum of 2 years’ related experience is required
- Computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, Tableau, and similar software applications
- Maintains healthcare vendor credentialing as an employee for J&J Vision
- Strong customer service skills
- Written and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear terms
- Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment
- Time-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule
- Attention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports about the repairs
- Organizational skills to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the field
- Computer and technical skills to understand the equipment fully
