Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance, including preparation and filing of state and local taxes, including but not limited to the various Form 1099s required, property tax filings, etc.
Lead the coordination of preparation and review of annual and quarterly tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including effective tax rate calculations and deferred tax analysis
Strong knowledge of C-Corporation and Partnership taxation and accounting
Address direct and indirect tax matters
Work with Controller on developing and identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow
Coordinate with external tax preparers, advisors and auditors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and business operations, to provide tax guidance and support for strategic initiatives
Assist with tax-related aspects of finance and corporate transactions
Maintain effective relationships with tax authorities and respond to inquiries and audits as needed
Understands product taxability, tax resale/exemption certificate and license rules by jurisdiction and provides tax advice, guidance and training to internal and external stakeholders including operating companies, customers, vendors, other departments, etc.
Drive sale tax-exemption application and compliance process in various operational jurisdictions
Documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to tax processes
Provide training and guidance to finance and accounting staff on tax-related matters as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s and/or Advanced degree in Accounting
CPA designation required
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate taxation
Working knowledge of Netsuite is a plus
Strong MS Office application (Excel and Word) required
Google Workspace experience preferred but not required
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical solutions
Experience with tax compliance software and ERP systems
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
Strong and effective written and oral communication skills required
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Adaptability/flexibility and teamwork skills are necessary.
