About the role
- Own the delivery and quality of all projects executed by your team
- Translate ambiguous or high-level company goals into a clear, prioritised roadmap
- Ensure the team ships quickly, reliably, and to a high technical standard
- Proactively identify delivery risks and resolve them before they impact customers
- Partner closely with Product to define what the team should build and why
- Ensure work is clearly tied back to customer value and company-level metrics
- Respond quickly to customer feedback in collaboration with Sales and Customer teams
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical health
- Define and own the metrics that measure your team’s success
- Use data to guide prioritisation, improve delivery speed, and raise quality
- Hold yourself and the team accountable for outcomes
- Run regular 1:1s with all engineers on the team, regardless of formal line management
- Foster strong team morale, psychological safety, and high ownership
- Provide technical and career guidance to engineers on the team
- Work closely with an Engineering Manager (if applicable) on performance and development
- Contribute to onboarding, hiring, and performance processes
- Support cross-team initiatives that raise the bar for engineering at Omnea
- Act as a role model for Omnea’s engineering values and ways of working
Requirements
- Strong experience as a software engineer, with a track record of shipping high-quality systems
- Comfortable owning end-to-end delivery, not just individual tickets
- Able to turn unclear problem statements into structured plans
- Confident working closely with Product and non-engineering stakeholders
- Clear communicator who can align a team around priorities and trade-offs
- Passionate about building great products and great teams
