About the role

  • This role is responsible for managing the onboarding and integration of manufacturers of sourced finished medical device products to ensure products are globally commercially transactable in an efficient and optimized manner throughout Olympus systems and warehouses and for supporting general business development initiatives.
  • At BDL direction, leads and/or participates in CMSO Business Development initiatives within cross-functional teams and captures subject matter expertise within the Business Development function.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to create and drive program architecture and ensures effective integration of new suppliers and their products into Olympus’ systems.
  • At BDL direction, creates, maintains and executes Commercial Readiness and CMSO related task plans for projects to ensure that projects stay organized and on-track through deal close.
  • Identifies and tracks any project risks related to CMSO or the Supplier.
  • Maintains effective communication with key internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries, resolve issues, and support as required by the Deal Lead, Integration Manager or BDL for BD projects.
  • Partners with extended team to drive robust CMSO global communication regarding project status.
  • Partners with the Quality organization to ensure onboarding or qualification activities for the Supplier are completed by appropriate resources.
  • Manages required master data updates from the Olympus Supplier for item number and account creation within Olympus systems in conjunction with the Commercial and wider CMSO team.
  • Solicits CMSO Feedback and Input in conjunction with Purchasing team for Distribution Agreement negotiation outlining key terms between Olympus and the suppliers.
  • Partners with Supply Chain team to ensure inventory is on the Olympus shelf for Day 1 transactional readiness and that there is a secure flow of supply to support Olympus requirements.
  • Partners with the Supply Chain team to identify the labeling requirements necessary for transactions within the wider Olympus network.
  • Partners with the extended global CMSO team to ensure the identification of the preferred Olympus network transaction and product flow for sourced products with key cross-functional partners.
  • Ensures functional and regional alignment by coordinating with global and regional CMSO teams to ensure efforts are aligned, approvals are maintained, and resources are identified.
  • Build and maintain a network of resources in all regions, across all businesses and divisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of directly related Supply Chain experience in the medical device industry, preferably in a global role
  • Knowledge of and experience performing onboarding and integrating new suppliers into a wider business
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large sets of data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Excellent team player
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across cultures and personality types
  • High business acumen: ability to learn quickly and adapt to new circumstances; comfort and ability to effectively order the unknown, collaborative and adaptable
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to quickly distil complex information into actions/recommendations
  • Excellent understanding of the typical functional roles and responsibilities of Supply Chain, including operations, trade regulations and logistics
  • Practical understanding of global regulatory/quality standards and requirements
  • Potential for travel up to 30%; domestic and international.
