About the role
- Design instrumentation and control systems for Data Centers, including conceptual designs, detailed site designs, and retrofits.
- Perform factory witness testing of equipment and construction administration and verification.
- Communicate and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, teams, subconsultants, clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Manage tasks including Building Management System (BMS) design, specifications, and drawings.
- Select and specify process instrumentation, PLCs, HMI equipment, and networking components (copper, fiber, wireless).
- Develop control system (BMS) sequences of operations.
- Conduct submittal review and field inspections.
- Provide construction administration and verification and occasional site travel for meetings and information collection.
Requirements
- This is a Design Engineering role and NOT a Data Engineering role.
- 6+ years of experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Attention to and passion for detail.
- Professional engineering license preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites for meetings, information collection, and construction administration.
- Experience with selection and specification of process instrumentation.
- Experience with selection and specification of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) equipment.
- Experience with selection and specification of networking components and media including copper, fiber, and wireless hardware.
- Experience developing control system (BMS) sequences of operations.
- Experience performing submittal review and field inspections.
- Task management skills.
