About the role

  • Management of the payroll process, scheduling, and work allocation
  • Distributes workload and assigns tasks
  • Transfers payroll information to general ledger
  • Delivers payroll reports to departments
  • Performs/assists with routine filing of tax information Federal, State, Local
  • Provides customer service to departments
  • W-2 production/quality control.
  • Management of Payroll Staff recruiting, developing, motivating and monitoring staff members
  • Creates individualized staff development plans
  • Plans and runs biweekly department meetings
  • Coordinates employee opinion survey action plans
  • Maintains knowledge of taxes and HR policies
  • Attends monthly meetings with HR, Finance, and IS Director.
  • Upgrades Information Systems PeopleSoft/Matrix/Kronos, E-Pay installation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • CPP - Certified Payroll Professional - American Payroll Association
  • 5 years experience in Payroll with automated time and attendance system
  • PeopleSoft Experience
  • Matrix or Kronos Experience
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excel/Word skills.
