About the role
- Provide equitable service to both O'Bleness Hospital and Berger Hospital
- Responsible for the effective direction, management and operation of the infection prevention program
- Uses relevant evidence based guidelines and recommendations, epidemiological and implementation science theories in daily work to prevent infections and control outbreaks
- Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication, collaborative and leadership skills required to work with interdisciplinary teams
- Serves as a content expert consultant, influencer and educator to the healthcare team, patients, family and community
- Ability to quickly make and implement decisions as required to control outbreaks and prevent the ongoing transmission of infections
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Field of Study: a health related field from four-year college or university; or prior Experience in Infection Control Field
- Knowledge of principles of epidemiology, infection control, infectious diseases and microbiology.
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (JCAHO, CDC, NIOSH, ODH, etc.)
- 2 yrs. clinical Experience in hospital/healthcare setting.
