About the role

  • Provide equitable service to both O'Bleness Hospital and Berger Hospital
  • Responsible for the effective direction, management and operation of the infection prevention program
  • Uses relevant evidence based guidelines and recommendations, epidemiological and implementation science theories in daily work to prevent infections and control outbreaks
  • Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication, collaborative and leadership skills required to work with interdisciplinary teams
  • Serves as a content expert consultant, influencer and educator to the healthcare team, patients, family and community
  • Ability to quickly make and implement decisions as required to control outbreaks and prevent the ongoing transmission of infections

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Field of Study: a health related field from four-year college or university; or prior Experience in Infection Control Field
  • Knowledge of principles of epidemiology, infection control, infectious diseases and microbiology.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (JCAHO, CDC, NIOSH, ODH, etc.)
  • 2 yrs. clinical Experience in hospital/healthcare setting.
