About the role
- Join the VA Identity team to support modernization of Veteran-facing identity and access management systems for VA.gov.
- Build and maintain responsive, accessible web interfaces using React, JavaScript, Node.js, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver user-centered solutions.
- Write, test, and debug clean, maintainable code in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Support continuous integration, testing, and deployment processes in AWS.
- Deliver user-centered digital services that improve authentication and access for millions of Veterans.
Requirements
- Strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred) and building responsive, component-based UIs.
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript, including cross-browser compatibility and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with state management tools such as Redux or similar frameworks.
- Experience consuming and integrating with APIs, especially in high-security or large-scale systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage dependencies, and deliver in complex environments.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
