• Develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test cases and test plans validating DoD healthcare data across pipelines, ETL processes, and system integrations
• Verify ETL and data integration processes by comparing source and target data after transformations
• Query and analyze complex databases to validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity
• Leverage AI tools to identify data anomalies, generate test cases, produce SQL validation queries, and support defect analysis

• Design and develop backend services and APIs in Java (Java 11/17+) and .NET (ASP.NET Core / .NET 6+)
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and ASP.NET Core
• Work across the full backend stack including business logic, data access, and API integrations
• Write clean, well-tested code using JUnit, xUnit/NUnit, and test-driven development practices
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and security
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Git, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling

• Serve as the first point of contact for support requests via ticketing system, email, or chat
• Troubleshoot and resolve common issues related to account access, site functionality, and general platform inquiries
• Document incidents, track resolution progress, and communicate updates to stakeholders
• Escalate complex issues to Tier 2/3 support or engineering teams with clear, detailed context
• Monitor system alerts and flag potential problems before they escalate
• Maintain and improve knowledge base articles, FAQs, and user documentation to reduce recurring issues

Administration

• Administer enterprise data platforms including Tableau Server, MOVEit, Linux, Windows Server, and related DHA tooling
• Manage platform configurations, access controls, and environment governance across multiple environments

• Build and maintain data marts, materialized views, and data pipelines within an AWS Aurora PostgreSQL environment

Security Analyst

• Partner with engineers and security SMEs to design, improve, and implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions for VA.gov products
• Analyze security metrics and access management trends to inform how the program approaches security architecture
• Develop and document requirements for IAM solutions including identity lifecycle, role management, separation of duties, and access workflows
• Build and maintain logging and monitoring solutions using Splunk, Loki, and/or AWS CloudWatch
• Develop use cases and test cases, and participate in SIT/UAT testing
• Operate as a domain expert — teams will lean on you for both functional and technical guidance on security and IAM
• Support the Security Collab Cycle, ensuring teams building products and features on VA.gov are doing so in alignment with Platform security standards and best practices
