About the role
- Develop, support, and enhance internal flows used to run a sequence of checks on custom circuit macros, ensuring compliance with hierarchy, layout, and netlisting requirements.
- Validate that macro layouts adhere to all agreements required by place and route, and facilitate successful integration into chip-level designs.
- Develop and maintain ICV decks, SKILL code, Perl and Python scripts, and Thunder utilities to rigorously validate layouts and schematics.
- Develop the release process that is used for custom macros, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with other CAD engineers, standard cell, RAM, and mixed-signal cell designers, place and route engineers, library infrastructure teams, and packaging designers to specify new checks and improve existing ones.
- Participate in the ongoing development and support of mission-critical infrastructure.
- Opportunity to contribute to other CAD projects outside the core responsibilities of this role.
Requirements
- B.S. (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or M.S. in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years’ experience.
- Excellent programming skills, with proficiency in Perl, Python, and Cadence SKILL.
- Solid understanding of custom circuit design, layout, hierarchy, and netlisting.
- Experience with macro validation flows and release processes.
- Familiarity with ICV decks, Thunder utilities, and EDA tool integration.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for supporting end-users and working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to mission-critical infrastructure and driving continuous improvement.
- Experience with version control system, like Perforce
- Familiarity with LSF or similar job scheduling systems for distributed computing.
