About the role

  • Working closely with teammates, contractors, and leadership to ensure safety compliance;
  • Promoting workplace safety by identifying and controlling potential hazards;
  • Developing and/or reviewing safety programs to determine their adequacy;
  • Being on call 24/7;
  • Safety and health training and auditing.
  • Perform moderate physical activity such as walking in all areas of a large industrial facility, climbing stairs/fixed ladders, working at an elevated location, standing for prolonged periods of time.

Requirements

  • 4-Year Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field; and/or equivalent years of experience.
  • First Responder/EMT certification or willingness to obtain
  • Industrial Hygiene and Behavior-Based Safety experience
  • Safety training experience and certification (30-hour, fall protection, LOTO, etc.)
  • OSHA Voluntary Protection Program experience
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Steel Nebraska will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
