About the role
- Access and Reimbursement Manager (ARM) is a field-based role providing in person (or virtual) education to accounts on access and reimbursement topics
Serve as key contact and lead for access and reimbursement support-related matters; local market access expert on payer policy coverage, acquisition pathways, billing/coding, claims processing, reimbursement, integration of manufacturer support programs
Problem solve, analyze access and reimbursement issues, communicate healthcare landscape changes
Partner with NPC field associates and coordinate cross-functionally with Patient Support Center, Marketing, Market Access, Public Affairs, State & Government Affairs, Trade, Specialty Pharmacy Account Management, third-party affiliates
Interact within assigned accounts to support patient access; provide proactive face-to-face education to providers and staff
Address customer questions on NPC policies for ordering, payment, inventorying, returns & replacement
Work with providers, administrators, billing/coding staff, revenue cycle managers to support patient access
Analyze payer policies, drug acquisition/inventory management, patient/practice reimbursement; identify trends and support pull-through on local coverage decisions
Stand up NVS-sponsored patient support programs; interface with Patient Support Center; review patient-specific information when available
Assess access situations and develop Plan of Action; establish preferred acquisition pathways; educate on buy-and-bill processes; engage non-prescribers
Responsible for meeting corporate objectives; customer satisfaction; enables customers to attain access; adherence with NPC policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
Advanced degree preferred
Minimum three to five years' experience in public or private third-party Reimbursement arena or pharmaceutical industry in managed care, clinical support, or sales
Experience with specialty pharmacy products acquired through Specialty Pharmacy networks or specialty distributors (buy and bill)
Experience with coding, billing and in office support programs
Prior account management experience or prior experience with complex accounts (Payer landscape, high patient volume, large systems)
Specialty pharmacy experience required (ability to teach an office the entire process from script to injection)
Knowledge of Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and processes with expertise in Medicare Parts B and D a plus
Knowledge of Managed Care, Government, and Federal payer sectors, as well as Integrated Delivery Network/Integrated Health Systems a plus
Ability to operate as a team player
Ability to travel and cover large multistate geography territories, at least 50% travel required
Must live within assigned territory
Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Superb knowledge of buy-and-bill reimbursement pathway
Experience working with established injection networks
