About the role
- Advise managers and HR colleagues on labor law issues
- Collaborate with the works council on co-determination matters, particularly in relation to projects, restructuring, and company agreements
- Develop and implement strategies to foster positive labor relations
- Support conflict resolution processes
- Ensure compliance with labor law regulations and internal policies
- Implement global HR projects in accordance with the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG)
- Negotiate and coordinate with works councils as part of international and local HR initiatives
- Represent the company in labor law disputes, including coordination with legal counsel and external stakeholders
- Draft and review labor law documents (e.g., employment contracts, warnings, terminations)
- Conduct training sessions on labor law topics for managers and HR staff
- Support labor law and employee relations matters in other European countries in coordination with local HR and legal teams.
Requirements
- Degree in law, business law, human resources management, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in labor law / employee relations
- Deep knowledge of German labor law and the Works Constitution Act (BetrVG)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Structured, solution-oriented way of working
- Business-fluent German and English (spoken and written)
- Regular on-site presence at Novanta locations in Berlin, Ludwigsstadt and Wackersdorf
