Implementation Specialist

• Provide excellent client/advisor experience during the implementation phase of their plan
• Request and coordinate collection of data such as census information, plan documents, prior compliance testing, and IRS forms from clients and outside professionals
• Act as a liaison between clients, advisors, and platform providers during the implementation phase of the plan
• Review plan adoption agreements and complete plan provision paperwork for the various platform providers
• Assist clients with plan provision inquiries to ensure a basic understanding of plan operation
• Participate in weekly calls with clients, financial professionals, and platform providers to manage plan timelines
• Set-up internal systems, and load information into our compliance software
• Perform work according to Nova policies and procedures

Account Manager

• Maintain a caseload of safe harbor clients
• Maintain client and advisor relationships with a high active client retention rate
• Manage and prioritize workload towards weekly goals in a results-oriented team environment
• Consult with clients regarding plan operation and design
• Work with other Nova departments, record-keepers, and advisors to ensure a great client experience
• Document all client interactions in our workflow management system

Entry Level Account Manager

Analyst

Entry Level 401(k) Plan Analyst

• Report to Development Team Lead and focus on ensuring the highest standards of code quality, reliability, and efficiency in automation scripts, tools, and frameworks
• Perform detailed code reviews for automation scripts, frameworks, and tools to ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices
• Provide constructive, actionable feedback to developers and document required changes
• Identify issues such as bugs, inefficiencies, maintainability problems, and potential risks in automation code
• Collaborate with the automation team to establish and enforce coding standards specific to automation workflows
• Ensure automation scripts are reliable, reusable, and optimized for performance and scalability
• Verify that automation code adheres to security best practices and aligns with project requirements
• Review and validate test automation frameworks, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Integrate code quality tools (e.g., linters, static analysis tools) into CI/CD pipelines
• Document code review findings, track recurring issues, and recommend process improvements
• Stay current with automation trends, tools, and technologies and recommend enhancements

Automation Quality Analyst

IT Support

• Own end‑to‑end annual administration for a caseload of DB and cash balance plans; drive high‑quality technical deliverables and serve as a trusted resource for colleagues and clients
• Prepare annual actuarial work including valuations and ASC 715 & 916 calculations; complete non‑discrimination testing, benefit certifications, and government filings (e.g., Form 5500 and PBGC comprehensive filings)
• Code DB and DC plans from scratch in Nova’s third‑party actuarial software; review and improve coding for accuracy and efficiency
• Perform and review benefit calculations (DB/CB) and assemble distribution packages for terminations; check owner‑only illustrations as needed
• Conduct asset & liability analysis, identify gain/loss drivers, and communicate findings clearly to internal teams and clients
• Prepare proposal illustrations for prospects with accurate assumptions and clear documentation
• Lead the PBGC standard termination workstream for assigned plans: prepare Form 500, Schedule EA‑S, Notices of Plan Benefits (NOPB), and distribution packages within deadlines
• Contribute to training and onboarding of new DB specialists; manage assignments through Nova’s project management processes
• (DB Specialist III) Serve as a liaison between the DB team and the Combo Account Management team; triage and resolve escalations
• (DB Specialist III) Review and sign off on deliverables prepared by Specialists/Analysts; drive quality control and process improvements
• (DB Specialist III) Plan and execute complex plan terminations and unusual design or funding scenarios
• (DB Specialist III) Mentor team members toward professional credentials and best practices in modeling, testing, and documentation

Defined Benefit Specialist II/III

Accountant

• Gather data necessary for federal and state income tax returns
• Review state and federal state tax returns prepared by outside CPA, including composite and pass-through entity filings
• Prepare select state income tax returns
• Maintain state tax calendars, due date schedules, and compliance logs
• Support multi-state apportionment and allocation analyses for corporate and shareholder-level filings
• Prepare and reconcile tax accounts, including estimated payments, extensions, composite payments, and overpayment carryforwards
• Assist with nexus evaluations, registration, and compliance for new jurisdictions
• Respond to state and local tax notices, inquiries, coordinate with external CPA’s and regulatory agencies as necessary
• Distribute K-1s to shareholders and respond to shareholders questions regarding K-1s
• Provide advice to company and shareholders about the advisability of opting certain composite returns
• File renditions for property and personal tax in a handful of jurisdictions and ensure timely payment of property taxes
• File business license renewals, state information returns, and local information returns
• Research and interpret state and local tax laws, regulations, and rulings
• Prepare and improve written documentation
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce compliance risk
• Perform other duties as assigned
