About the role
- Performs CPT and ICD10 coding through medical record abstraction
- Trains physicians and other staff regarding documentation, billing and coding
- Collaborates with Providers and Clinical areas to ensure accuracy of medical records
- Reviews medical records and communicates new or revised coding guidelines
Requirements
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- 0-2 years of experience in a relevant role
- 94% accuracy on organization's coding test
