About the role
- Participate in analyzing high-level needs through a structured and logical approach
- Create System Architecture solutions and concepts for new and emerging capabilities for the C2BMC system
- Collaborate with other Architects, including lead Systems Architect, software architects, network architect, cyber architect
- Communicate and collaborate on System Architecture solutions with software developers, network engineers, cyber engineers, DevSecOps, infrastructure, test, and deployment teams
- Define both physical and logical architecture across the System
- Interface with project leads, product owners, and MDA customers
- Present architecture concepts to a large variety of audiences and serve as focal point for System Architecture for Capability development, test, and deployment efforts
- Present at internal and external design reviews and DoD Customer Design Reviews
- Assist in documenting or reviewing architectures in an MBSE tool such as CAMEO
- Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and design methodologies in DoD Command and Control and COTS/FOSS IT products
- Work across Missile Defense and Space domains within C2BMC and as part of an integrated architecture and systems engineering team
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics) with 8 years of experience
- A Master’s degree in a related STEM discipline preferred with 6 years of experience
- A PhD in a related discipline with 4 years of experience
- Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance required at time of application
- Systems Engineering/Architecture and/or Test Experience on a DoD Program
- Desire to be a Systems Architect on a complex Command and Control DoD Program
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical concepts to diverse engineers
- Must possess at least two of the listed skillsets (examples below)
- C2BMC or similar complex DoD Command and Control (C2) system experience for over 2 years
- Experience in developing new system architecture concepts and solutions
- Work experience in IT, Computer Science, Software, or Network fields on an integrated team for a DoD program
- Experience as a Technical Lead, Systems Engineering SME, or technical leader in Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 domains
- Experience in identifying and defining desired capabilities and communicating them to developers and users
- Experience creating architecture artifacts: Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies
- Experience preparing briefings and presenting at DoD Customer Design Reviews
- Knowledge of DoD Cyber requirements, RMF, and related solutions
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and/or Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) methodologies and solutions
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo tools
- Familiar with software development and Java-based software solutions
- Familiar with Agile development
- Familiar with requirements management tools, e.g., DOORS
- Familiar with private cloud solutions and IT technologies such as: VMWare, Nutanix, RedHat, Networking solutions
- Willingness to travel (~10% of the time)
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
