About the role
- Serve as the primary point of contact for DS Sector regarding insurance and risk management.
- Build relationships with DS leadership and functional partners to support business objectives.
- Implement and administer insurance programs for the DS Sector.
- Analyze and identify potential loss areas, determining appropriate insurance coverage and loss protection strategies.
- Manage insurance claims, monitor progress, and assist with claim adjustments.
- Develop and coordinate risk control programs to prevent losses and reduce premiums.
- Identify and assess risks related to new business opportunities and developments.
- Provide advice on contract and subcontract agreements, reviewing subcontracts for appropriate insurance content.
- Gather data on property, aviation, and other exposures to support insurance policy renewals.
- Process certificates of insurance and coordinate with accounting and compliance departments.
- Collaborate with Environmental, Health & Safety and Facilities teams for loss prevention efforts.
- Support the crisis management team and participate in multiple lines of insurance support.
- Assist in preparing applications and underwriting submissions for major insurance lines.
- Prepare reports for management and support directors in meetings with carriers.
- Review policies for compliance with negotiated terms and prepare insurance summaries for business units.
- Report to the Senior Property & Casualty Insurance Manager and serve as the primary risk management partner for the Defense Systems (DS) Sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience in Insurance, Risk Management related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- ARM and/or CPCU Certifications (preferred).
- Experience in brokerage, underwriting, or claims adjusting (preferred).
- Background in aerospace or government contracting (preferred).
- Familiarity with RMIS systems (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Basic understanding of insurance and finance operations (preferred).
