About the role
- Act as the primary Manufacturing Operations interface to the Program Office, OU Business Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Mission Assurance on all aspects of manufacturing program scope
- Overall responsibility for managing proposals, production planning and execution of manufacturing programs, while monitoring and addressing all cost, schedule, performance, and quality issues
- Lead multifunctional teams, including Operations functional support organizations, to ensure all program and manufacturing goals and objectives are met
- Acts as the key point of contact for senior leadership on all contract and program related matters
- Provides oversight and accountability for all OPM related activities in their area to ensure compliance with company objectives and obligations
- Responsible for employee development, performance management and employee engagement activities
- Product transition from development to production methodology and implementation
- Lead manufacturing teams to improve operational efficiency, implement optimal solutions and define and implement the OU end-to-end manufacturing, integration & test strategies
- Work with operating unit leadership, program managers, customers, and peer organizations to execute cost and schedule objectives and implement strategic initiatives
- Recruit and mentor future leaders, direct training and skill development initiatives and promote engagement and inclusion activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years OR Masters and 6 years related experience in Program Product Line Alignment/Operations management or equivalent
- Will consider 12 years of applicable experience in lieu of degree requirement
- Experience with ERP/ MRP
- Experience in Control Account Management
- Experience applying Earned Value Management techniques
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience with Continuous improvement and problem-solving tools and techniques
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Clearance and SAP
- Master's degree in STEM related discipline or MBA (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience leading operations team through a comprehensive estimate at complete (preferred)
- Experience with systems methodology and lean applications to problem solving (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, IMS management and or Agile applications (preferred)
- Strong leadership abilities, excellent communications skills and effective problem-solving capabilities
- Recruiting and mentoring future leaders, directing training and skill development initiatives
