About the role
- Develop electrical wiring designs of aircraft subsystems including selection of conductors and electro-mechanical components (connectors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, terminal junction systems)
- Support design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems, including Electrical Loads Analysis, test procedures, power architectures, reports and analyses
- Responsible for system/component design and development: trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, troubleshooting
- Act as technical point of contact with suppliers; participate on subcontractor management team for hardware development, qualification and procurement
- System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting
- Conduct system level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met
Requirements
- Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of experience in Aerospace structural design OR MS in STEM with 10 years OR PhD in STEM with 7 years of related experience
- Experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
- Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance preferred (background investigation within past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation)
- Experience with military aircraft subsystem development including requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration, test and verification
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with government clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
