About the role

  • Source and procure materials and services within the Computer IT Hardware & Software commodities
  • Execute the procurement process, including but not limited to sourcing, price analysis, Commercial Item Determination and negotiations, following policies and procedures including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Prepare bid packages, analyze and evaluate proposals, negotiate PO provisions, administer resulting PO and ensure on time delivery
  • Strong understanding on the federal acquisition thresholds and what level of documentation is required at any given level based on the type of procurement transaction
  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
  • Work with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required.
  • Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
  • Manage performance of purchase orders, ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
  • Interface and collaborate with key stakeholders and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain.
  • Plan, schedule, and arrange activities to accomplish objectives, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills and organization.
  • Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities
  • Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed to include invoice reconciliation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, sourcing, or closely related business experience -OR- Master's degree and 3 + years of procurement, supply chain, sourcing, or closely related business experience; in lieu of degree, an additional 4 + years of experience may be considered
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable leadership characteristics
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition thresholds and documentation requirements
  • Strong understanding of the procurement process in a government contracting environment
  • Experience with an MRP system such as SAP or Costpoint
