About the role

  • Design, develop, and implement security training programs and materials tailored to the healthcare environment
  • Conduct training sessions for hospital employees, including security personnel, medical staff, and administrative staff
  • Educate staff on hospital security policies, procedures, and protocols, including identification procedures and access control
  • Provide training on emergency preparedness and response to fires, natural disasters, medical emergencies, and security threats
  • Familiarize and train staff on security technologies such as CCTV, alarm systems, and access control
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations and ensure training programs comply
  • Develop and maintain ongoing education programs on evolving security threats and best practices
  • Conduct security assessments and drills to evaluate training effectiveness and identify improvements
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and evaluation results
  • Ensure certifications/licenses are up-to-date and complete mandatory training within specified time frames
  • Report safety related incidents in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool and monitor work environment for safety issues
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity trends, developments, best practices and regulatory changes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., criminal justice, security management, education) - Preferred
  • AVADE workplace violence prevention instructor (Certification & Licensures)
  • Previous experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or security training - Preferred
  • Understanding of computers and competence in using computers and basic software programs
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications/licenses prior to expiration
  • Complete company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame
  • Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool
