About the role
- Ensure a safe and supportive working environment that fosters personal and professional growth within the department
- Lead and develop a team of Quality Control and Quality Assurance professionals to meet organizational quality objectives and drive continuous improvement
- Shape and direct the technical strategy to support market expansion and product development initiatives
- Contribute to business strategy and policy development across the organization
- Facilitate decision-making processes related to business planning and critical operational matters
- Develop strategic plans for product, service, technical, or production capabilities aligned with long-term business goals
- Identify emerging market needs and define effective strategies to address them
- Apply Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process efficiency and product quality
- Leverage experience in the metals industry or heavy manufacturing to inform quality practices
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex quality issues
- Develop, implement, and maintain QMS, including AS9100/ISO 9001 standards for aluminum production
- Act as the voice of the customer, resolving quality issues and conducting audits
- Manage vendor quality, including auditing and Corrective Action Requests (CARs)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of five years of experience in Quality Management within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the aluminum extrusion industry is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Quality, or another similar field preferred
- Solid background in Quality Management, with hands-on experience in quality systems and processes
- Preferred experience with Automotive TS 16949 standards
- Preferred experience with Compliant Pro (CPro)
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt preferred
- Travel up to 15%.
