About the role

  • Manage and direct all aluminum casting operations, including melting, casting, and sawing, to meet production goals while ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and maintenance standards
  • Responsible for the safety of all Cast House employees
  • Will be the site SPA for Molten Metal
  • Responsible for performance management evaluation process for the Cast House employees, both salaried and hourly
  • Willingness and ability to hold subordinates accountable for their areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards and keeping training up to date for both direct and indirect reporting employees
  • Responsible for maximizing scrap utilization and minimizing prime utilization
  • Accountable for on time delivery to the next customer both internal and external
  • Drive Safety to be engrained in the culture of the Cast House employees

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aluminum casting, extrusion or related industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior supervisory experience in an industrial plant
  • Experience with lean 6 sigma a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Metallurgy or equivalent (preferred)
  • In depth knowledge of casting process, operation of equipment, aluminum alloys and standards, use of precision instruments and customer orders and specifications
  • Ability to use various systems to track, understand, report and improve on all KPI’s
  • Experience with ISO 9000 and/or ISO/TS 16949 Quality Systems
  • Travel up to 5%
