About the role
- Leading the delivery of the new theatre build: acting as Project Lead from planning through to completion, managing contractors, stakeholders, timelines, and budgets in close coordination with the Regional Project Manager and Project Director Europe.
- Overseeing all facilities management functions, including line managing the Facilities and Health and Safety Manager and maintaining building compliance, safety, and service standards throughout the construction period.
- Developing and implementing a campus mobility strategy: reviewing student transport routes, planning new drop-off points to accommodate reduced parking during the build, and ensuring a robust Drop-Off and Pick-Up Safety Plan is in place for all vehicle movements on and around the school site.
- Building and embedding a positive health and safety culture across academic, administrative, and maintenance teams, and ensuring full compliance with Irish H&S and environmental legislation.
- Managing operational and project budgets, including reporting, forecasting, and identifying cost efficiencies, and ensuring all procurement is robust and compliant.
- Serving as the primary liaison with landlords, local authorities, planning bodies, and external contractors on all operational and development matters.
- Ensuring comprehensive handover documentation is in place at contract end, leaving robust systems and plans for the school to build on.
Requirements
- A background in facilities management, health and safety, or a related field, with demonstrable experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- A relevant professional qualification such as NEBOSH, IWFM, PRINCE2, or PMP is highly desirable.
- Proven budget management experience, including the ability to report, forecast, and identify cost efficiencies.
- Strong working knowledge of Irish health, safety, and building regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing contractors and service providers, with the ability to hold teams to account against agreed KPIs and timelines.
- A solutions-driven approach: you identify problems early, think practically, and act decisively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels from site contractors to school leadership.
- Comfort working in a fixed-term, project-driven environment where the goal is clear and delivery matters.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
