About the role
- Contribute to AWS architecture decisions across client engagements in partnership with client and Nimble Gravity teams.
- Design and evolve AWS-based platforms that support analytics, applications, automation, and AI at enterprise scale.
- Help define target-state architectures across compute, storage, networking, and data platforms.
- Support the development and adoption of standards for scalability, performance, security, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions using core AWS services across compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Design infrastructure patterns that are reliable, maintainable, and repeatable across environments.
- Support multi-account strategies, landing zones, and environment management best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and client teams to ensure consistent application of AWS standards and reusable platform capabilities.
- Support the design and operation of modern data platforms leveraging AWS and Databricks.
- Enable scalable, secure data pipelines and analytics environments across batch, ELT, and streaming workloads.
- Help define patterns for data access, governance, and performance optimization.
- Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to ensure platforms meet performance and reliability needs.
- Support cloud environments that enable machine learning and AI workloads.
- Ensure platforms are scalable, secure, and ready for advanced analytics use cases.
- Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams to support experimentation and model deployment.
- Support the implementation of standards for cloud governance, security, compliance, observability, and operational excellence.
- Ensure architectures align with regulatory and client-specific requirements such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, or similar frameworks.
- Apply best practices for IAM, encryption, network segmentation, disaster recovery, and platform resilience.
- Support key clients in the administration of AWS environments, including account structure, IAM, networking, monitoring, and cost management.
- Implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD practices, and environment management processes.
- Partner with teams to optimize AWS and Databricks performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability and scalability.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across AWS services and platform operations for key client engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer are strongly preferred.
- 7–10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, or enterprise infrastructure.
- Strong experience designing and operating AWS environments in production.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, and monitoring.
- Experience supporting modern data platforms and analytics workloads.
- Experience with Databricks, including integration with AWS data services, is preferred.
- Experience working in collaborative, client-facing environments.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
