Define, own, and continuously improve Nextracker’s enterprise global inventory policy and strategy, including governance, standards, and accountability mechanisms.
Lead the global inventory planning function for both ongoing project fulfillment and aftermarket/warranty operations.
Lead the global and regional minimum/maximum (min/max) and safety stock levels – in alignment with Regional Supply Chain leaders – and ensure regional execution.
Develop and institutionalize mathematical and algorithmic models for demand forecasting, replenishment, and inventory optimization across global, regional, and business levels.
Analyze forecasts and part-level demand to secure adequate supply commitments while meeting Sourcing minimum volume requirements.
Plan and manage a complex global inventory base, applying industry best practices to create replenishment levels that balance working capital and service-level targets.
Lead and ensure timely reorder execution, balancing service, cost, and capital performance.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure inventory accuracy, data integrity, and timely corrective actions.
Define and own the global warehousing strategy, working with regional teams to develop and execute optimal stocking, storage, and network models (self-perform and third-party logistics providers – 3PL – in collaboration with the Sourcing team).
Partner with Sourcing to optimize warehouse footprint, location strategy, service levels, KPIs and 3PL cost structures.
Establish global SLAs and SOPs, ensuring scalable and standardized processes tailored to regional needs.
Drive operational excellence in receiving, storage, labeling, picking, issuing, and shipping processes.
Ensure inventory accuracy (system vs. physical) through cycle counts, audits, and strong root-cause/corrective actions with Inventory Control and Finance.
Oversee warehousing spend globally and regionally to ensure competitiveness and efficiency.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, ensuring all initiatives are scalable and executed consistently across the enterprise.
Partner with Business Systems and Supply Chain key stakeholders to define, select, and oversee implementation of a global Warehouse Management System (WMS) and related automation tools.
Partner with Business Systems to integrate EDI and automate warehouse transactions with 3PLs and internal sites.
Utilize advanced analytics and AI to enhance inventory planning, replenishment algorithms, and warehouse operations.
Ensure data governance, system integrity, and real-time visibility through automated KPI dashboards.
Collaborate with Finance, Project Operations, Sourcing, Sales, HR, and Business Systems to align on growth strategies and operational goals.
Work with the Sourcing team to track, monitor, and optimize warehousing and material-handling spend globally.
Partner with Inventory Control and Finance to automate inventory transactions, order fulfillment efficiency and ensuring system and physical accuracy.
Support acquisition integration to ensure seamless onboarding of new businesses and systems.
Build and lead a multi-cultural, geographically distributed global team, fostering collaboration, empowerment, and accountability.
Define, automate, and publish KPIs and performance dashboards (inventory turns, service levels, fulfillment lead time, warehouse cost per unit, inventory accuracy, etc.).
Lead weekly and monthly reporting of team performance, progress versus goals, and key KPIs.
Conduct monthly Global Review meetings with Supply Chain leadership to update on inventory planning, warehousing operations, KPIs, and key business programs.
Identify and drive cost-reduction initiatives that enhance service, scalability, and working capital efficiency.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in supply chain, including experience as a global supply chain leader
Demonstrated strong demand and supply planning experience, including inventory planning, both for projects as well as for after market and warranty operations
Experience leading and managing warehousing operations, including both self-perform and 3PL environments.
Excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes.
Proven organizational and project management skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to lead dispersed regional and global teams.
Ability to present and report strategic plans at the executive level.
Experience in process optimization to drive efficiency, scalability, and cost reduction.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment under tight deadlines.
Demonstrated experience leading multi-cultural teams.
Strategic and analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and results orientation.
Autonomous, self-driven, and resourceful.
Advanced negotiation skills and strong knowledge of commercial contracts.
Proven ability to foster a problem-solving culture.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
Working experience with Anaplan, NetSuite, Power BI, or similar systems.
Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
Availability to travel regionally and internationally up to 30%.
