About the role
- Own the end-to-end payroll process for U.S. and international employees
- Manage Federal, State, and local payroll tax requirements, as well as international compliance through local partners
- Oversee end-to-end processing for U.S. and international employees, including base pay, commissions, bonuses, and equity transactions
- Act as the functional lead for payroll systems (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, Sequoia One)
- Enhance internal controls and documentation to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
- Collaborate with HR, Finance and Legal
- Drive payroll-related audits, including insurance and 401k audits
- Serve as point of contact for payroll inquiries, resolving issues with accuracy and empathy.
Requirements
- 8-10+ years of progressive payroll experience
- At least 3-5 years in a leadership role within a high-growth high-tech, public technology company
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Expert-level knowledge of BambooHR, Rippling, Sequoia One preferred
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with equity-based payroll
- Experience managing global payroll providers in EMEA/APAC
- Proactive, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, attention to details and hands-on.
