About the role
- Prepare and assemble complex immigration applications including I-130, I-485, I-751
- Review client intake information and organize supporting documentation
- Draft cover letters, legal memoranda, and case summaries for attorney review
- Conduct legal research on immigration law and prepare legal briefs
- Prepare removal defense packages including asylum applications
- Review applications for accuracy and compliance with USCIS requirements
- Draft client correspondence and prepare interview preparation materials
- Provide detailed case notes and handoff summaries for U.S. attorneys
Requirements
- J.D. or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution in your country
- Active bar license or legal practice authorization in South Africa, India, or the Philippines
- Minimum 3 years of legal experience (immigration law experience preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with U.S. immigration law is a strong plus
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong legal writing in English
- Legal research skills using online databases
- Organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Cultural sensitivity
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- Quiet, professional home office setup
- Computer capable of running case management software
