About the role

  • Own Payroll Execution and Oversight

  • Partner closely with senior payroll staff to review payroll runs, validate deductions, and ensure accuracy before and after processing
  • Act as a key link between Rippling and NetSuite, ensuring payroll data flows cleanly into financial systems
  • Investigate discrepancies, reconcile payroll activity, and explain variances clearly to Finance and People Ops partners
  • Work closely with Finance, People Ops, and external vendors to resolve payroll-related questions, support compliance needs, and improve coordination across payroll, benefits, and tax workflows
  • Collaborate with People Ops to address benefit-related discrepancies and improve controls
  • Own payroll reconciliations, investigations, and issue resolution, including payroll deductions, benefits, tax withholdings, and employee-level variances
  • Ensure payroll issues are identified, documented, and resolved rather than left unaddressed
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll workflows, documentation, and system usage, particularly within Rippling
  • Partner with internal teams and vendor representatives to resolve system issues and contribute to future payroll system improvements as needed

  • Working knowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and benefit deductions
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to connect payroll data to downstream financial reporting
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively across Finance and People Ops teams
  • Organized, solutions-oriented approach with comfort managing recurring payroll timelines and ad hoc investigations simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; payroll certification is a plus but not required.
