About the role

  • Support the development and implementation of a sectoral communication strategy;
  • Support the development and implementation of a provincial communication strategy and brand positioning;
  • Design a social media and media relations strategy that leverages platforms such as CMNB’s online networking platform, social networks, newsletters, etc., to showcase the sector and raise its profile.
  • Establish sustainable communication and information channels adapted to the specific needs of local communities (urban, rural, Francophone, Anglophone, etc.).
  • Optimize information exchange and communication flows.
  • Communicate recommendations on advocacy and communications related to the sector;
  • Provide affiliated organizations with tools and resources so they can adapt their internal planning and provincial communications efforts;
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of communications using key performance indicators.
  • Develop and lead engaging, inspirational communications for target audiences, drawing on the organization’s mission, vision, and main pillars;
  • Create compelling and relevant messaging on very short deadlines;
  • Manage internal communications;
  • Ensure CMNB’s voice and brand are reflected in all communications;
  • Build collaborations with member agencies and other key stakeholders;
  • Monitor social media to assess engagement and activity;
  • Develop media relationships and maintain media contact lists.
  • Create measures to track press releases, media advisories, media inquiries, and media coverage;
  • Produce general communication materials, such as press releases and media advisories;
  • Prepare and support speeches for the Executive Director.
  • Handle inquiries and website updates;
  • Contribute to drafting the CMNB monthly newsletter and the weekly media analysis;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism required (French and English), both written and spoken.
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in marketing, or a combination of education and experience relevant to the role.
  • Experience in fast-paced, proactive communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong, polished written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in communications and interpersonal relations.
  • Proven proficiency with the MS Office suite.
  • Experience in communications and marketing.
  • Experience managing websites and social media.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and daily activities.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with businesses and the media.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Attention to detail, particularly when proofreading text and content.
